Lovedale to host Hunter Valley Grape Escape
On Thursday September 30, 2010 the Lovedale Chamber of Commerce has been selected to be the host of the main “break out” event of the Festival. It is the one day of the Festival when rugby is not played. Named the Hunter Valley Grape Escape, it is anticipated that it will attract some 4000 national and international visitors who will come to the Hunter for the day via more than 200 buses. They will enjoy a giant “Aussie BBQ” featuring local food, beers and wines. Participants will be able to sample lots of local produce, enjoy various local entertainers and participate in different country picnic sporting activities. Of course there will be displays featuring local wildlife, so we expect lots of photos to be taken as well. On departure each visitor will be given a specially labelled bottle of Lovedale wine as a memento of the visit.
